Egret.net offers web hosting for businesses, web site design, maintenance, and promotion.

Egret.net primarily provides managed web sites; i.e. we host, design, and maintain the sites. However we do design and maintain sites that are hosted elsewhere, and we also provide web space for people who wish to design and maintain their sites themselves.

Web site promotion.  We'll design your site for good placement on the search engines and we'll submit your site to the major search engines.

Updates and changes to your site with the Business Web Presence Plan are made at the rate of $60 an hour, billable in 10 minute increments.  New pages added will be at the new page design rate.

Web site maintenance. Egret.net will provide updates and changes to web sites for one year at the rate of one hour per page total (example: 10 hours of maintenance per year for a 10 page web site).  Beyond that time, changes to existing web pages is done at the rate of $60 an hour, billable in 10 minute increments.  The definition of maintenance is changes to a site to keep it current, to keep the content from becoming obsolete, such as changing the dates on a seminar that meets monthly, or changing a price on a product that now costs more than it did yesterday.  If the new content constitutes a new addition to a site, and warrants a page of its own, it should be put on a new page.  New pages added will be at the new page design rate.

E-mail autoresponders - $15 setup charge for each autoresponder. Unlimited autoreponders available.

Web Site Statistics - We will help you get an account at Google if you do not have one, and we will put your Google Analytics code on your pages for a fee of $2 per page.  Other web statistics solutions are available, if you like, but Google Analytics is free, accurate, and works well.

Video - Video production is a service offered by Egret.net, the fee depending on the project. If you already have a video that you want displayed on your web site, that work is done at the rate of $60 per hour.  One hour or less is all that is needed in most cases.

Real Media available (Real Audio & Real Video) $15 setup charge.  First stream is at no charge; additional steams are $6.95 per month each.

Shopping Cart software: There are many types of shopping carts we can install, and this is another case of "you get what you pay for."  If you are only selling a few items and you want to accept credit card orders online, you can get by with just an order form on the secure server; you may not even need a shopping cart.  But if you want a complete online store, you can have a cart which beautifully displays your products  and which offers secure order taking, figuring in any applicable sales taxes and shipping charges.  An excellent shopping cart makes online shopping extremely smooth and easy for the buyer, and that's important because you don't want to frustrate your customer; your competition is only a click away.  A top-of-the-line shopping cart, designed to fully fit in with the look and feel of your site, with hundreds of items displayed, which will e-mail the order to you and a confirmation to your customer, will calculate the exact shipping charges, and with many other features, may cost in the neighborhood of $1,000.  But, keep in mind, that's for a store which is open 24 hours a day, all over the world.  Compare that to the cost of rent and overhead for a bricks and mortar store, in one location, which is open 12 hours a day, six days a week.

Flash programming - Flash animation programming can go from small flash elements on a page, flash opening splash screens, a presentation of a video from a video camera presented in flash format, all the way to an entire web site written in flash.  Quotes for flash projects will be given after consultation with you on what the job entails.

Egret-Webedit - a program which allows you to edit and maintain your web site through your web browser, with no special software or technical expertise required.  The one-time license fee for this program is $199, and an installation fee of $50.  The web site must be hosted on our servers to utilize this program.  Click here for more details.

WEB DESIGN

Egret.net is especially interested in hosting web sites which we design and maintain. You run your business; we'll consult with you about the design of your web site, and we'll create it, publish it to the web, and maintain it for you.  Your site will have a consistent look and feel throughout.  It will be correct in its spelling, grammar, punctuation, and capitalization.  The viewer will be able to navigate through your site easily.  It will present a professional, positive image of your company.

Page Design Fee

The fee for page design is $125 per page for sites of between 1 and 9 pages, $115 per page for sites that are between 10 and 19 pages, and $105 per page for sites that are over 19 pages long. What constitutes a page is determined by the content of the page; a page has one topic, such as "Contact Us" or "Our Philosophy." Included in the design fee are any hyperlinks to other places on the same page, or to other pages in your site, or to external sites, that are needed. Also on the page are any applicable photographs or other graphics.

Image (graphics, photograph) Fees

In addition to your logo, you may have photographs or other images on your site. There is no charge for including stock images and graphics. Images that we scan will cost $2.50 each for scanning. Simple image design or modification (including cropping or other editing) is included in the page design fee.  All images we use will be "optimized" for the web, meaning they will be modified to have a relatively small file size so that they load as quickly as possible. The cost of optimization is included in the new page design fee. We can design banners, including animated graphics, at the regular image design fee.   Complex image work is done at the rate of $60 an hour.  Original creative image work done by our graphics designer is done at the rate of $100 an hour.

Database Design

You can have a searchable database on your site, in which you will be able to enter, edit, and delete data via web access.  We will be able to give you a quote on the fee for the project after we have a description of what the project entails.

WEB SITE CREATOR

Web Site Creator gives you Do-It-Yourself options through which you can design and maintain your own web site by using templates that you can edit from your own computer, requiring no special software or technical expertise.  The cost for this service starts at FREE for a basic three page web site.  See Web Site Creator for details.

PAYMENT OPTIONS

Contracts for hosting are for a minimum of three months, payable in advance. Design fees are due within 15 days of the date the site is published.
